Cadwyn sent Rent Increase letters to all tenants in January, outlining changes to rent and service charges in-line with Welsh Government guidelines which will take effect from April 1st, 2025.
If you claim Universal Credit to help pay your rent, you will need to inform them of the change in your rent on April 1st 2025. You cannot do this before this date, as you cannot report a change until it happens on Universal credit.
If your receive your housing benefit paid directly to you, then you will need to inform the local county council of the change to your rent.
Find out how to do this at your nearest Cardiff Council Hub by clicking here, or if living in Caerphilly find out more information here.
If your housing benefit is paid directly to Cadwyn, then you do not need to do anything. We have already informed the council of your new rent amount.
If you need any support with this change, or have any concerns about paying your rent, our Rent Officers are here to help. If you’re unsure who your Rent Officer is, simply contact us and we’ll put you in touch. Call us on 029 2049 8898 or email info@cadwyn.co.uk.
