In January 2024, Cadwyn Housing Association and Newydd Housing Group agreed to explore a new partnership which will see Cadwyn join the Newydd Group. If the proposal goes ahead, Cadwyn will continue operating as its own legal entity but will become a subsidiary of Newydd Group.

We are sharing our intentions with you here and giving you more information about what this means for tenants. We welcome views and feedback on this proposal and we will feed back to tenants and stakeholders the outcome of the decision made.

Why are we considering this?

By expanding the business, we can share resources and skills and become more efficient, which would release money to invest in our homes and developing services.

Adding Cadwyn as a new member of the Newydd Group will also increase the financial resilience of both organisations and enhance our ability to carry on providing affordable homes, despite this challenging external environment.

What does it mean for you?

As a resident of Cadwyn Housing Association, your landlord will remain the same, the conditions of your tenancy and the services you are provided with will not change, and your rent will remain the same and increased in accordance with Government guidelines. You can find our FAQs for tenants here and our handy leaflet on what the changes mean for you here.

Engagement with our residents

We welcome your feedback on this proposal and will share the responses with the Cadwyn Board when they consider whether Cadwyn will join the Newydd Group or not. All residents will be informed of the ultimate decision made as to whether to proceed.
