We think that Board renewal is important for good governance. While the contribution of experienced Board Members is vital, we also need new members who can both contribute to strategic thinking, help improve performance and support our work.

Our Board Members have a maximum fixed term of office for 9 years (standing down every three years to enable elections to take place); and there may also be times when Board Members stand down for personal reasons.

If you wish to apply to become a Board Member or for us to have a record of your interest, you will need to:

  • Complete a simple application form, highlighting your skills, knowledge and experience; why you are interested in becoming a Board Member and how you could contribute.
  • Meet with the Chief Exec and the Chair to have an informal chat
  • Candidates will also be invited to observe a Board meeting and meet the rest of the Board.
  • The Board will then decide from the candidates who could add the most value at this time.

The organisation and the Board will at all times be aware of the need to follow best practice in terms of equal access, openness and diversity, and any potential conflicts of interest.

All Board Members must be shareholders, this will be explained when you apply for Board Membership.

By becoming a Board Member for Cadwyn you will receive:

  • Experience of a dynamic, innovative organisation, which is making a positive impact on people’s lives
  • Personal learning and development opportunities
  • Great networking opportunities, and
  • Reimbursement of reasonable expenses.

You can also apply to become a Board Member or register your interest through CHC’s Come on Board scheme: http://comeonboardwales.co.uk/
