Huw Lewis, the Minister for Housing, Heritage & Regeneration launched the Housing White Paper on May 21st at the recently refurbished hostel – Ty Greenfarm. The 25-bed family hostel was a joint partnership between ourselves and Cardiff Council and was opened in March.
The White Paper provides details of how the Welsh Government will tackle homelessness, improve conditions in the private rented sector and deliver more homes. It also sets out an aim to end family homelessness in Wales by 2019, ensuring better help is available for those who become homeless.
We are delighted that the Welsh Government chose to launch the White Paper at Ty Greenfarm. The hostel has been built to an excellent standard and provides safe accommodation for homeless families in an attractive and tranquil setting.
