Tenant Participation

How can I get involved with Cadwyn?

Tenants enjoying the annual summer trip

Cadwyn encourages tenants to become involved and you can do this in a number of ways:

Give us feedback:

You can give us feedback in a number of ways, e.g. by letter, email, phone or by filling out the repairs satisfaction survey when you have a repair done.

You can also take part in a focus group in order to provide feedback on specific areas of our services to you. Your feedback is really important to us and helps ensure our services meet your needs.

Events

We hold a number of tenant events throughout the year, including meetings and social events. This offers a great opportunity to find out more about what’s happening at Cadwyn as well as meeting other tenants and the learning new skills.

Our AGM (Annual General Meeting) and Open Day is held every July and is open to all tenants and organisations that we work with. This is a great opportunity to meet other tenants, staff and organisations that we work with and to find out about our key achievements over the past year. For more information on this year’s AGM and other events at Cadwyn please visit our Events section.

Tenant Chatback

Our tenants have set up their own online network, Tenant Chatback. It features groups, discussions and information on a range of housing, community and general interest topics. All tenants are welcome to become members and join in. The Tenant Chatback group also produce the Tenant Chatback newsletter. The newsletter has been put on hold while the group focus on developing their website, however, it will return in 2012 to complement the website.

Do you have a special interest?

Tenants can set up their own special interest/residents group or become an officer of an existing group. We can provide support, advice, funding and other resources if you are interested in setting up your own tenants group or looking for ways to develop existing groups.

Cadwyn’s Local Tenant Participation Strategy (LTPS)

This details Cadwyn’s structure, methods and actions for developing tenant involvement across the organisation. It provides information on how tenants can:

    • Involve tenants in a range of activities that meet the needs of all tenants
    • Consult with and involve tenants in making improvements to services
    • Feed back to tenants on issues
    • Develop links with the wider community
    • Achieve its Business Plan objectives through tenant participation
    • Provide opportunities and support to tenants who want to access training or skills development

We give updates to tenants on the progress of the LTPS Action Plan at TACT (Tenants and Cadwyn Together) meetings, as well as in our newsletter.

Tenant Resource & Participation (TRAP) Room

Our Tenant Resource and Participation room was opened in April 2007. It is located at Cadwyn’s head office and is open for all tenants between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
