On May 21st the Finance Minister Jane Hutt visited Cadwyn tenant Joanne Page at her home in Ely. The visit came just ahead of the Minister’s announcement that investment into affordable housing will be a top priority for the Welsh Government over the next 10 years.
Jane Hutt was joined by the Minister for Housing, Heritage & Regeneration – Huw Lewis and Cabinet Member for Communities, Housing & Social Justice, Lynda Thorne. They spoke to Joanne about her new home in Ely which has been built alongside the recently refurbished family hostel Ty Greenfarm.
The homes at Clos Tan Y Ffarm have been built to a high energy-efficient standard and help tenants to save money off their energy bills. Joanne commented: ‘I’m really happy with my new home. The energy-efficiency is great – my bills are a lot cheaper than they were previously and the house is a lot warmer.’
