Active Travel

We were awarded an Active Travel grant by Cardiff Council to encourage our staff to travel actively – this means getting out of their cars and onto bikes or their own two feet!

The grant paid for a bike shelter, four regular bikes and one folding bike for staff to use. We also have a selection of helmets (for small, medium or large heads!), panniers (for files, folders or food), reflective bands  plus locks, puncture repair kits and a pump – everything you could possibly need to make it easy to get out and about on a bike! We even had some money left over for bike maintenance and some training.

Nervous staff trying out the new bikes!

We monitor mileage to reduce petrol consumption and encourage staff to use public transport when they can.

You can find out more about active travel on the Cardiff Council website in the environment section.
